The workshop
Seven rooms at Unit 14, Colhook Industrial Park, Petworth, with twenty-five to forty knives in production at any one time. Every stage of the work is done here.

The rooms in roughly the order a knife passes through them, from the grinding belts to the showroom cabinets.
The Grinding Room
- Heavy belt grinders
- Multiple grinding stations
- PAPR respirator helmets
- Dust isolation & extraction
A dedicated, dust-isolated room added in 2018 to house the heavy belt grinders. Every primary bevel is ground here by hand. The room's separation keeps dust out of the assembly shop and lets us run several stations at once during production batches.

Forge & Heat Treatment
- Evenheat heat-treat kiln
- Oil quench
- Tempering ovens
Where blades are normalised, hardened and tempered. Every blade we make passes through the forge — heat treatment is the single most consequential step in determining how a knife will hold an edge over a lifetime of use, and we don't outsource it.
Assembly Shop
- Two manual mills
- HAAS CNC unit
- Bandsaw
- Drill presses
- Numbered batch caddies
- Materials store upstairs
The main assembly shop, where we meticulously piece together every knife. Components are sorted into numbered caddies and organised into batches. The shop houses two manual mills, a bandsaw and a HAAS CNC unit, consistently turning out precision folder parts. Twenty-five to forty knives are typically in production simultaneously, with a storeroom upstairs stocked with materials and steels.
Polishing Room
- Buffing & sisal wheels
- Polishing compounds
- Hand-sanding bench
- Final inspection
The final-finish station. Hand-polished mirrored bevels, satin finishes, stonewashed surfaces — every blade is finished to its spec by hand before final inspection.
The Laser Lab
- EPZ fibre galvo laser
- CO₂ gantry laser
- 3D printer — jigs & fixtures
- 3D scanner
A hub of innovation housing four essential machines. An EPZ Fibre galvo laser marks all metals; a CO₂ gantry laser cuts and marks leather, wood and plastics. A 3D printer creates jigs for the lasers, ensuring uncompromising precision. A 3D scanner sits alongside for the rapid prototyping of specialist parts.
Leatherwork & Thermoplastics Studio
- Saddle-stitching bench
- Industrial sewing machine
- Dye & finishing bench
- Wet-forming tools
- Kydex press & eyelets
Where every leather sheath is hand-stitched and every thermoplastic carrier is shaped to its blade. Run by Dean — both disciplines kept in-house so the carry system is as considered as the knife itself.

The Showroom
- Solid-oak display cabinets
- Capacity for 100+ knives
- One of every current model
- Antique arms & curiosities
Our hand-crafted showroom — a true labour of love built from locally sourced solid oak. As the company's centrepiece and the first point of contact for visitors, it holds capacity for over a hundred custom knives and shows at least one example of every model we make alongside the diverse range of materials we work with.
The room is more than a display. It serves as a small museum: ancient swords and weapons sit alongside rare materials, captivating artwork and other curiosities. Every corner tells a story.
